How to Make a Component Cable for Xbox

The Microsoft Xbox, much like many other sixth-generation home-gaming consoles, connects to televisions through composite cables. In the event your television has no composite ports, you can connect your XBox to a television by converting the composite signal from your Xbox to a component signal, which can then be linked to a television.

Component cables
Composite-to-component converter

Instructions

  Connect the Xbox end of your Xbox composite cable to the port on the back of your console.

  Connect the composite ends of the cable to the composite input ports on your composite-to-component converter.

  Connect one end of your component cables to the component output ports on your converter.

  Connect the other end of the component cables to the component ports on the back of your television.

  Test your cable by turning the Xbox and your television on. Change the channel on your television to the input channel for your component signal to ensure that the Xbox signal is being sent to your television.
