Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disconnect your drum pads from any power sources. If the drums are wired, disconnect the cord from the console. If the drums are wireless, remove the battery cover and take out the batteries.
Pull away the drum cover corresponding to the broken drum. Each pad is connected to the main peripheral body by four wedged pegs that will come away with enough force.
Remove both screws holding the central sensor in place with a Phillips screwdriver. Place the screws aside in an upturned lid or small cup to avoid loss.
Pull away the bandagelike adhesive strips from the round drum sensor. You will find that one or both wires are disconnected from the sensor.
Heat up your soldering iron to operable levels. Most soldering irons heat to the appropriate temperature automatically.
Hold the disconnected wire against its contact on the sensor. Touch the tip of your solder with the heated soldering iron, which immediately melts the solder into molten metal.
Brush the tip of the soldering iron against the loose wire. The molten solder will transfer from the iron to the wire and contact. Wait at least 30 seconds for the solder to harden.
Apply more solder as needed until the wire holds fast to the contact once more. Reapply the adhesive strips to the sensor. Replace both screws and reconnect the drum pad to the frame.
Reconnect your drum set to its power source. Boot up "Rock Band" and test out your newly wired drum pads.
