How to Plug the Guitar Into Rock Band Wireless

"Rock Band" is a music game in which players use instrument-shaped peripherals to simulate playing music. Many of these peripherals come in a wireless variety, allowing players to enjoy the game without the limits of wires and cables. The game is available on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3, and all of these consoles support wireless guitars. Installation of these devices is easy to do once you know how.

  • "Rock Band" wireless controller
  • "Rock Band" wireless receiver (for Wii, PS2 or PS3)

Instructions

      Plug the wireless receiver into the console. If you are playing on a PlayStation 2, plug the receiver into the controller slot. On a PlayStation 3 or a Wii, plug it into a USB slot. You do not need a wireless receiver on the Xbox 360 version.

      Switch the console on.

      Turn on the guitar controller using the switch on the back. Wii users do not need to do this.

      Press the Sync button to allow your console to recognize the device. This is the black button on the receiver for PlayStation 2 and 3. It is the white button next to the memory card slots on the Xbox 360. For Wii users, the Sync button is a white button located on the receiver.

      Press the Console button on the guitar to sync the device to the console. The lights should begin flashing. On a Wii, the light should glow solid blue.
