Compatible Headsets for the PS3

Finding compatible quality headsets for the PS3 is not an easy task. There are many options available on the market; however, with so many options it can be a challenge to discern between a high-quality and low-quality headset for the PS3.
  1. Logitech Cordless Vantage Headset

    • As of September 2010, the Logitech Cordless Vantage Headset costs roughly $30 new and boasts a noise-canceling microphone to prevent outside noise interference from interrupting communication. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless freedom and Logitech's own patented "behind-the-head" technology that will work on either ear.

    Sony 98095 LECTERN Headset

    • The Sony 98095 LECTERN headset features cordless Blue Tooth technology, and as of September 2010, is sold for approximately $26. It also has a "High-Quality (HQ)" mode that enhances voice commands, allowing more accurate speech recognition by the artificial intelligence in PS3 games that supports voice commands and similar functions. The LECTERN also includes a cradle to charge the device and a mute button.

    Ear Force PX21

    • The Ear Force PX21 headset is sold for approximately $80 as of September 2010. It features both a USB headset for chat sound and an amplified stereo headset for game sound, allowing control over both chat and game sound from one control box. Other features include variable gaming bass boost, chat expander and stereo expander which all contribute to hearing sharper game sound cues. This may provide a competitive advantage.
