Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn off your console prior to beginning work on your controller. Spread a small towel out on a flat and stable surface like a table and lay the controller face down on the towel. For safety̵7;s sake, flip open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.
Insert the Phillips head screwdriver into the one of the indented screw holes on the headstock; unscrew the screw and place it in a small cup to avoid accidentally losing it. Continue unscrewing each of the remaining 13 screws until all have been removed.
Pinch the plastic top and bottom of the controller and apply a slight amount of pressure; pull upward to remove the two pieces from one another. Alternatively, should the pieces seem to stick, pull up on the top enough to slide a flathead screwdriver in between the pieces and use the driver to pry the pieces apart.
