My Xbox Wireless Les Paul Won't Connect

Fans of the "Guitar Hero" videot game series enjoy rocking out in their living rooms, dens and bedrooms courtesy of the game's easy interface via the guitar-shaped controllers. The third installment in the series comes with a controller shaped like the iconic Gibson Les Paul guitar to add to the ambience, but unfortunately the controller isn't without its issues. One common problem is the connection between the body and the neck. Fortunately, there's a quick fix.

Things You'll Need

  • Industrial-strength rubber band
  • Self-adhesive plastic clothing hook

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the nylon guitar strap if attached to the guitar and set aside. Flip the controller over and look at joint between the neck and body; press the neck and body together to see how much each component flexes toward the joint. Too much flex can indicate it's too loose.

    • 2

Lay the guitar face down on a flat surface, peel away the protective backing from the adhesive tab on the hook and position the hook on the heel of the body, flush to the dividing line between the two components, with the point of the hook facing away from the headstock.

    • 3

Pull the rubber band over the hook and stretch it over the peg on the neck where you attach the guitar strap; coil the rubber band over the hook and peg to take up all the slack in the rubber band. Press on the body and neck to ensure there's no movement between the two components. If there is still movement, continue to coil the rubber band.
