How to Transfer and Save a Game From a PC to a Gamecube, Ps2, or Wii

Since the end of the cartridge era of video games, game states have been saved via memory card. Yet, when someone plays many games and makes multiple save files these memory cards are quickly filled up. By hooking up memory cards with PCs, gamers not only save money, but they can easily transfer saved games back to their game systems and trade saved games over the Internet.

Things You'll Need

  • Save file
  • SD card
  • USB drive
  • USB Memory Adaptor 64M
  • PS2 memory card
  • MAX Drive software CD
  • Gamecube memory card

Instructions

  1. Transfer Save Files for Wii

    • 1

      Transfer the save file onto your SD card.

      Unplug the SD card from the computer once the transfer is complete.

      Insert your SD card into the SD slot on the Wii console.

      Turn on the Wii and click on "Wii Options."

      Click on "Data Management" and click on "Save Files."

      Find the save file of your choice and select it. Click copy, it will ask if you wish to copy the file onto the Wii's hard drive. Click "Yes" and wait for the file to copy.

    Transfer Save Files for PS2

      Plug the USB drive into your computer. Transfer the game save as you would any other file onto the USB drive.

      Insert your USB drive into the PS2 as well as the regular PS2 memory card.

      Turn on the PS2. Make sure the MaxDrive CD is inside.

      Click on "My devices" when the MaxDrive software loads.

      Select the USB drive as the main device. Select which game states you wish to transfer by selecting "Copy to Memory Card." Wait for the transfer to complete. Turn off the PS2 and unplug the USB drive.

    Transferring Game Saves for the Gamecube

      Insert the USB Memory Adaptor 64M into your computer and transfer the file onto the device as you would any other.

      Insert your Gamecube memory card and USB Memory Adapter 64M into the Gamecube.

      Turn on the Gamecube and make sure that no disk is in the console.

      Go to the "Memory Card" option and hit the "A" button.

      Select which save file you wish to transfer and hit "A." Select transfer and wait for the file to reach the other device.
