How to Troubleshoot a PS2 Max Memory 64MB

The PlayStation 2 Max Memory 64MB has the memory to hold enough game saves for any gamer. It offers eight times the amount of memory as the original PS2 memory card. Of course, that means there's a lot more data that can become corrupted. If you find your card is not running properly or you can̵7;t save your games to it, there is hope. With a few simple steps you can start saving your games again.

Instructions

    • 1

      Plug your PS2 into an outlet. Turn the console on.

      Open the disc drive and take any games, DVDs or music CDs in the console. Turn the system back off with the power button on the front or back of the console.

      Plug your Max Memory 64MB card into Memory Card Port 1. This will be located right above the Controller 1 port on the front of the console.

      Turn the PS2 back on.

      Select the ̶0;Browser̶1; from the given options on the home screen of your PlayStation 2 dashboard by pressing the ̶0;X̶1; button on your PlayStation 2 controller.

      Use the D-Pad or the joystick on your controller to scroll over to your Max Memory 64MB memory card. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller to select it.

      Scroll through the game saves with your D-Pad or your joystick until you find the corrupted data on the card. This will be labeled ̶0;Corrupted Data̶1; in the title description on the screen.

      Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller to select the corrupted data.

      Choose ̶0;Delete̶1; from the options given.

      Press the ̶0;Circle̶1; button on your controller to exit the Max Memory 64MB screen until you come back to the browser.

      Open the DVD drive on your PS2 console and put your game in the slot.

      Play the game until you need to save it.

      Save the game on your Max Memory 64MB memory card.
