How to Use a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector

The Nintendo Wi-Fi connector is a small USB dongle that allows you to connect your Nintendo DS or Wii to Internet. If your home network does not support wireless connectivity, use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connector will allow you to create a custom wireless network tailored to Nintendo machines. Once connected to Nintendo Wi-Fi, gamers can meet up and play cooperatively or competitively in various online-enabled games.

      Download the latest version of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector software to your desktop, then double-click to unzip.

      Open the unzipped folder and double-click the sub-folder "NintendoWFCReg." Double-click the file "Setup.exe." (If you are using Windows Vista, right-click the file and select "Run as Administrator.")

      Connect the Nintendo Wi-Fi to your computer's USB port when prompted, then click "OK" to finish installation.

      Turn on your Nintendo Wii or DS and access the "Nintendo Wi-Fi" menu. On the Wii, this menu is accessed by clicking the "Wii" icon in the lower-left corner of the main menu, then clicking "Wii Settings," then "Internet," then finally "Connection Settings." On the DS, access the "Nintendo Wi-Fi" menu by booting a Nintendo Wi-Fi compatible game cartridge and selecting "Online" or "Nintendo Wi-Fi" from the game's main menu, then choosing "Nintendo Wi-Fi Settings."

      Select "Connection 1," then "Wireless Connection." Choose "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector."

      Wait for the console to confirm your connection, then click "OK" to finish setting up your wireless connection. You now can play online by selecting "Online" or "Nintendo Wi-Fi" from the main menu of any Nintendo Wi-Fi compatible game.
