How to Get a PS2 Memory Card Connected to a Computer

The PS2 memory card is used by both the original PlayStation and the newer PlayStation 2. Although you typically only connect it to the gaming system, you may want to hook it up to your computer in order to back up important game data or e-mail saved games to friends over the Internet.

  • PS2 memory card
  • PS2-to-USB adapter
  • Computer
  • Driver installation CD

Instructions

      Plug the USB end of the PS2-to-USB cable into one of the USB ports on your computer.

      Connect the PS2 memory card to the open PS2 card slot on the adapter cable.

      Insert the driver installation CD. Without the driver installed on the computer, it cannot detect the PS2 card. Momentarily, the driver installation wizard will load onto the screen.

      Accept the user and license agreement, then follow the brief set of prompts to install the drivers. You computer can now detect the PS2 card and you are free to back up your current game data.
