How to Set up a Universal Remote on an XBox 360

If you frequently use your Xbox 360 to watch DVDs or play CDs, you normally need to keep the TV remote and 360 controller handy. Microsoft̵7;s Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote provides a convenient way for you to control your TV and console with one device. The remote allows you to turn your TV on and off, flip through channels and adjust volume. It also features CD and DVD control buttons and gives you easy access to your games library. You̵7;ll need to program your universal remote before you can begin using it.

Instructions

  Take off the remote battery cover. Place two AA batteries inside the battery compartment. Follow the illustration on the underside of the battery cover to insert the batteries in the correct positions. Put the battery cover back on.

  Turn your TV on and aim the remote towards it. Hold the "TV" and "OK" buttons down at the same time for two seconds. Once you release the buttons, all the remote buttons will light up for two seconds. The numeric TV buttons remain lit after that.

  Press the "CH/PG" button to transmit several off commands to your TV. Repeat this procedure until your TV shuts off.
- 4
  Press the "TV" button to store the code and exit the programming mode. Watch for all the remote buttons to light up three times in a row to confirm the code.
