Some HDTV sets suffer a game lag effect from connected video game consoles. This problem stems from connecting a peripheral with a non-native resolution to a television with image-enhancement technology. By the time the television scales the image to fit the TV resolution and applies image-enhancement effects on the picture, several milliseconds are lost, creating a lag effect. To solve the problem, you can connect your gaming system to your HDTV using a VGA adapter, as the HDTV VGA input is designed to accept signals with non-native resolutions and does not use image enhancement technology by default.
