How to Hook Up a Leapster TV

The Leapster TV game system supports all of the game cartridges made for the Leapster series of handheld game systems. Connecting to the television, it can be easier for some children to play compared with the small screen on the Leapster handheld unit. Connect the game system properly for the best performance, avoiding the risk of damaging the unit or your television.

      Turn the game system upside down and remove the three screws on the battery cover with a Phillips screwdriver. Install 4 "C" batteries according to the polarity marked inside the battery compartment. Replace the cover, tighten the screws and turn the game system upright.

      Remove the joystick from the tray on the game system. Plug the joystick cord into the port on the front of the Leapster system. Turn off the power to the television and the Leapster game system.

      Plug the yellow cable into the yellow-colored or video jack on the television. If your television has three total ports, plug the red cable into the red-colored audio jack and the white cable into the white-colored audio jack. If your television has two ports, plug the red or white cable into the remaining jack, the audio jack, after connecting the yellow cable.

      Plug the game cartridge into the system with the label facing up. Turn the television on, then press and release the power button on the game console. Select your country if prompted on the first start to get the game to load.
