How to Hook Up a Nintendo Game Machine

Though the complexity of games has increased and the graphics have become exponentially more detailed, Nintendo's game systems are still hooked up to TVs and wall outlets in a similar way. This means someone who knows how to hook up a Nintendo 64 can probably figure out how to hook up a GameCube. If you need a refresher, you can learn how to hook up a Nintendo game system by following a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the power brick into the back of the system, then plug the other end of the power cord into an available power outlet.

    • 2

Connect the included video cable to the back of the system, then plug the other end into the appropriate port on your TV. The Nintendo 64, GameCube and Wii all use the standard red, white and yellow composite cables, though the Wii also supports component cables.

    • 3

Plug the Wii's Sensor Bar wire into its designated slot on the back of the system, then place the Sensor Bar itself either above or below your TV screen. This step applies only to the Wii, as the other Nintendo systems don't have a sensor bar, since they don't support motion controls. You've successfully hooked up a Nintendo game system.
