How to Fix Game Boy Advance SP Cracks

Many years of hard play can break even the sturdiest of consoles. Handheld consoles are especially susceptible to the wear and tear since they're so portable. They get dropped, kicked, stepped on, even subjected to the washing machine and dryer. Too much of this rough treatment can cause cracks in the screen. These cracks make the colors on the screen run or pool in blotches even when the system is off. You won't be able to fix this yourself and will need to send it into Nintendo for repairs.

Instructions

    • 1

Access the Nintendo website at http://www.Nintendo.com. Scroll the browser to the bottom of the page. Under the "Support" heading, click "Repair Help."

    • 2

Navigate through the "Repair Help" page until you find "Gameboy Advance SP" in the list of consoles.

    • 3

Look for the heading "Screen Problems." Click "Screen appears cracked."

    • 4

Select "Gameboy Advanced SP" from the consoles listed. There will be some redundancy in the menu listings since the Gameboy Advance SP is an older console.

    • 5

Check the warranty on your Gameboy Advance SP. Depending on the date of purchase, the warranty may be expired. Depending on your situation, select either "Warranty" or "Non-Warranty," then click "Set up repair."

    • 6

Fill out the repair form. Click "Yes" on the UPS return program. Nintendo will provide you with a label to print out and affix to your box.

    • 7

Drop the box off at your local UPS drop-off location.
