How to D-Link a PS3 Port

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming console provides network capability for connecting to the Internet. This is a necessity if you want to join the PlayStation online community with friends and others from around the world. If you have a D-Link Internet router, you can connect it to the Ethernet port on the PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug one end of your Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port at the rear of the D-Link router. This looks like a phone jack, only larger.

    • 2

Plug the remaining end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port at the back of the PS3. A green light will appear next to the port when the Ethernet cable has been properly inserted and is secure in the port.

    • 3

Use the PS3 control pad to scroll through the options in the main menu screen until you come to "System" and press "X."

    • 4

Scroll to "Settings" and press "X."

    • 5

Scroll to "Network Settings" and then select the "Network Test" option. The system will run a quick test and inform you that the Internet connection is made.
