Directions for Setting Up a LeapFrog Leapster

The LeapFrog Leapster is an educational handheld video game device, used to teach children how to read independently and add and subtract through the use of entertaining and interactive games. The system can be taken with you on the go, allowing your child to experience learning even when away from home. The system is compatible with more than 40 games. It comes with one free game of choice, but an Internet connection is required as the game must be downloaded. Setting up a LeapFrog Leapster system is a simple task which should only take a few minutes.

Instructions

      Open the battery compartment, located on the back of the LeapFrog Leapster system, and insert four AA batteries.

      Press the "On/Off" button on the handheld. This button is located on the top-left side of the system.

      Follow the directions shown on the Leapster screen to set up your child's profile. When the system starts for the first time, select your country code from the displayed list. After you select a country, create a profile for each child who will be using the system. The profile will consist of the child's name and age.

      Insert the included CD-ROM into your computer's disc drive. Wait for the program to boot-up and follow the instructions to install the "LeapFrog Connect" program.

      Turn on the game system and connect it to your computer using the included USB cable. On your computer, select a profile from the list in the "LeapFrog Connect" program. Follow the onscreen directions to choose and download your free game.

      Disconnect the handheld by removing the USB cable. The Leapster is now ready to use.
