Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unplug the PlayStation 2 console. Turn the console over and remove the six screw covers found on the bottom of the system. The screw covers look like little plastic squares and are found around the outside edge of the console.
Remove the six screws from the console. Place the screws in a safe location.
Turn the PS2 back over and remove the top left hand corner of the console casing from the rest of the system. Following the top left corner, remove the bottom left corner. Once the top and bottom left corners have been removed from the system, gently pull the entire casing from the console.
Turn the console casing over, exposing the underside. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the two small screws connecting the disc cover hinge to the casing and place the screws in a safe place. Turn the casing back over, so it is right side up.
Press the disc cover button on the console casing to open the cover. Once halfway opened, gently lift the disc cover off the console casing and set it aside.
Pick up the new flip top disc cover and set it in the console casing. The flip top cover will easily slip into place when it is halfway open. Ensure that the new flip top cover's hinge fits into place in the console cover. Once the new cover is in place, press it shut until the disc cover button clicks.
Turn the console casing back over. Replace the two small screws you removed from the disc cover hinge.
Flip the console casing back right side up and gently place it back on the PS2 console. Turn the entire system over and replace the six screws.
