Ensure that the unit's power light is on. If the light does not come on when the "On" button is pressed, verify that the power adapter is plugged in or that fresh batteries are installed.
Verify that the yellow video cable is plugged into both the V.Smile console and the TV. If the cable is plugged in correctly, make sure the TV is switched to the correct input. Consult the television's user manual for specific details on how to select input sources.
Verify that the red and while audio cables from the V.Smile console are plugged in to the audio input jacks on the back of the TV. If these cables are not correctly connected, no sound will be produced.
Press the "Reset" button or disconnect all cables and remove the battery to reset the V.Smile. Resetting the console may fix problems that cannot be resolved by checking the cables and batteries.
