Instructions

    • 1

Choose the color scheme that you would like to have on your Dreamcast. Go to your a paint or hardware store to see what colors are available in spray paint form.

    • 2

Use painters tape to cover the inputs for the Dreamcast's controllers on the front of the console. Place a strip of tape over the input and trim around the input housing with the Exacto knife. This gives you a clean tape job and protects the electronic contacts in the console from being covered with paint.

    • 3

Open the lid of the Dreamcast and place painters tape on the surface of the console under the lid. Do not cover the Dreamcast's laser with tape as it might damage it. The laser is positioned far enough away from the small opening all the way around the lid that paint will not harm it. This will keep the disc tray portion of your console clean.

    • 4

Place the Dreamcast on the newspaper or drop-cloth in an outdoor setting.

    • 5

Point the nozzle of your spray paint at the Dreamcast and spray from approximately 6 inches away to get a smooth coverage area and prevent the paint from running. Cover the entire area that you would like painted with one thin coat of paint. Wait about 5 minutes and apply another thin coat of paint. Repeat this process until you are happy with the results.

    • 6

Remove the painters tape approximately 5 minutes after you have finished painting. Do not wait for the paint to dry as the tape might pull some of the dried paint off with it.
