How to Make a Console Stereo

Video game consoles usually connect directly to televisions for the purpose of transmitting audio and visual signals. However, if you wish to create your own console stereo, you can do so easily by connecting your game console's audio cables to another audio device, such as a speaker or stereo system.

  • Game console A/V cables (RCA)

Instructions

      Connect the video game end of your game console's RCA cables to the proper port on the back of your game console.

      Connect the audio (red and white) ends of your RCA cable to the RCA ports on your audio device.

      Connect the video (yellow) end of your RCA cable to the RCA port on the back of your television.

      Turn your television, game console, and audio device on. Change your television and RCA device to their RCA input channels to see your game console's visual signal on the television and hear your game console's audio signal on your audio device.
