Download an emulator from the Internet. Similar to how you need a video game system to play a game, you need an emulator to play downloaded games. An emulator is essentially a program that allows you to play games, and you will need to download a Dreamcast-specific emulator. Some examples of Dreamcast emulators include the Chankast, DreamEmu and Icarus. The Resources section includes a link where you can download any one of these Dreamcast emulators.
Download a ROM from the Internet. A ROM is a game that you can download and play using the emulator. Some examples of popular ROMs include Dino Crisis, Shenmue and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. However there are hundreds of ROMs available on the Internet. After downloading the ROM you will need to extract its file to make it available for play. Double-click on the ROM icon to begin the extraction process and save it to your desktop or to a specific folder. The Resources section includes a link where you can download Dreamcast ROMs.
Double-click the emulator program icon. After it loads up you may search for any available ROMs on your computer by clicking on "Find ROM." Click on a ROM's icon and then click on "OK." The ROM begins to play and you can follow any in-game instructions.
