How to Get a Super Nintendo to Work

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is a 16-bit video game system that hooks directly up to your television. The SNES can be plugged directly into your televisions VHF cable connector using a RF to VHF adapter, shipped with all Super Nintendos. The Super Nintendo makes use of an AC adapter that plugs into an electric outlet to draw power. Once hooked up, you can enjoy many of the most classic video games ever made.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the short, thick end of the RF switch, which is labeled "ANT," to your televisions "VHF IN" port. Twist the header clockwise to tighten it onto your televisions "VHF IN" port.

    • 2

Connect the other end of the RF cable, which is a thin wire, to the port labeled "RF Out" on your Super Nintendo.

    • 3

Set the "3/4" switch located on the back of your Super Nintendo to match the television channel that you would like to use when playing.

    • 4

Insert the game cartridge for the game you wish to play into the game dock and press down firmly.

    • 5

Plug the system game controllers into the controller ports located on the front of the Super Nintendo.

    • 6

Plug the AC adapter into the AC port located on the back of the Super Nintendo, then plug the other end into an electrical outlet.

    • 7

Push the power switch on the top of the Super Nintendo to the "On" position, then change the television channel to match your selection from Step 3.
