How to Make a XBox Boot Disk for PC

Xbox 360 consoles are distributed by Microsoft Corp. and can be connected to your computer to perform various tasks such as replacing the BIOS memory, replacing the DVD drive firmware, and editing the DVD drive's BIN files. You can create a special disc for use with your Xbox 360 that allows your computer to communicate with the console's DVD drive without additional software. The "pSlax" disc is a Linux-based boot disc for PCs that activates the Xbox 360 for use with your computer. Creating a pSlax Xbox 360 boot disc will take about 10 minutes.

CD-R
ISO burning program

Instructions

  Turn on your computer and log in to your user account. Open a new Web browser window and download the pSlax disc image. (See Resources.) Download an ISO burning program (see Resources) and install it to your computer.

  Eject your CD burner's disc tray and place a blank CD-R in it, then close the tray. Run the .ISO burning application you installed and click "Burn .ISO to Disc," then select the pSlax ISO file and a disc burn speed. (Choose 1x, 2x, or 4x to avoid hardware errors that occur at higher recording speeds.) Click "OK" and the program will begin burning your pSlax disc image.

  Wait for the disc recording process to complete, then eject the CD from the burner. Your new pSlax disc will then be ready for use in your computer and can activate or "boot" any Xbox 360 console connected to your computer.
