Instructions
Turn the power off to the Xbox console. Remove your Xbox hard drive and any other accessories that may be connected to your console. Detach the Xbox faceplate by squeezing both sides and pulling it outward until it pops off. Strip off the plastic ventilation pieces by using a torx style star head screwdriver size T10. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to detach six tabs holding the grey panel pieces in place.
Separate the two pieces of the Xbox's case by using the Phillips head screwdriver. Press down on the tabs on the front and back of the case and pull the halves apart. Turn over the remaining metal box and use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the six larger screws keeping the top and bottom pieces attached.
Remove the DVD drive by lifting it out after you have removed the top of the case. Disconnect the power cables and SATA, which are attached to the drive and motherboard. Strip off the white plastic shroud by moving it upward and away from the attached heat sinks and fans. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to detach the USB RF unit on the front of the case. Take out the two small screws in the RF unit and lift it up to remove it from the USB connector. Remove the screws on the bottom of the metal plate to detach the motherboard.
Use thermal compound to attach the cooling blocks to the motherboard. Drill two holes in the steel case half an inch in size to insert the tubes. Connect short lengths of tubing from the cooling blocks and out of the holes in the steel case. Attach the tubes to a external cooling unit that is built to move air through it. Turn on the external cooling unit to test the water cooling system. Reassemble the Xbox 360 console by putting all the parts that were removed back in their proper places.
