How to Put an MP3 on Your Original XBox

The original Xbox was replaced with the graphically superior Xbox 360 in 2005, but for anyone who still may be using Microsoft's first game console, the ability to add a custom soundtrack to the console's hard drive is a big plus. Custom soundtracks on the Xbox's hard drive can be listened to in certain games, such as Project Gotham Racing and ESPN NFL 2K5. If you have some MP3s sitting around on your computer that you would like to add to a soundtrack on your Xbox console, you can easily transfer them using a blank CD.

Things You'll Need

  • Blank CD (CD-R)
  • PC with CD-R burner and CD burning software

Scroll down and highlight "Copy" then press the green "A" button.

Highlight the songs you want to transfer over and press the green "A" button to check them off. Alternatively, you can check "Select All" to select every song on the track.

    • 6

Highlight "Copy" at the bottom of the screen and press the green "A" button, then select the destination folder on your Xbox console, which is a custom soundtrack on the hard drive. Alternatively, you can create a new folder/soundtrack and name it accordingly. The songs will transfer to your Xbox hard drive and will be available to listen to in select Xbox games.
