How to Open an Xbox Case

Video game consoles are notorious for needing repairs over time, and the Xbox is no exception. While you can turn your Xbox in to Microsoft for repairs, some people choose not to because their warranty has expired or because of the long amount of time they have to wait to get their Xbox back. Fortunately, if you choose to repair your Xbox on your own, it is not difficult to open a Xbox case.

Things You'll Need

Xbox console
Torx 20 screw driver
Knife

Instructions

  Turn the Xbox upside down. Use a knife to pry off the rubber "foots" on the corners of the Xbox. Under each rubber foot is a screw.

  Use the Torx 20 screw driver to remove the screws from each corner.

  Remove the serial sticker to access another screw--remove this screw.
- 4
  Peel off the warranty sticker to access the final screw, then remove this screw. Save all screws and stickers so you don't lose them.

  Turn the Xbox right side up, then pull the top of the Xbox up to open the case. You will now have access to the inside of your Xbox.
