SD Card
If you find that your Leapster2 says a SD card needs to be inserted to get games and activities, even though you already put one in, you need to download and launch Leapfrog Connect on your computer. (See Resources.) Create a player profile on your Leapster2 and connect the unit to the computer. The website prompts you to set up a parent account. It then brings you back, on the computer, to the player profiles on your unit. Click your child's name. This opens to the Leapster2 home page. Click the "Click here" button when you are asked to choose your starter game. Select one starter game for download. Once you confirm your choice, it begins downloading. When the download is done, click the "Eject" button and disconnect your unit from the computer. Turn on the Leapster2 and select your child's profile name. Click the SD card to play the free starter game you just downloaded.
Callibration
If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.
Player Profiles Detection
If your player profiles are not detected when you connect the Leapster2 to your computer, you need to make sure you have installed the LeapFrog Connect application for Leapster2 on the computer. (See Resources.) If this application is already installed, try connecting the unit to a different USB port on your computer. Another suggestion: If you have an SD card inserted, remove it and try to connect again. Your computer may not recognize the Leapster2 if it does not recognize the SD card as a writable device. Note that this does not apply to Leapster2 units with built-in SD cards.
