How to Mod Xbox With Action Replay

Modding an Xbox means altering the system to run a custom dashboard, which unlocks many features previously unavailable in commercial versions of the console. These features include running emulators and playing emulated games, playing backup Xbox games, playing games directly from the hard drive and disabling the remote DVD lock to watch any DVD movie, to name a few. In the past, it was mandatory to open the Xbox for modding purposes, but now modding can be achieved without this hassle. This is known as a "soft-mod."

  Download the Linux Installer from online, as well as a ready-made hacked profile for the Xbox version of Splinter Cell. The hacked profile and installer can be found on websites such as Code Junkies. There are several profiles to choose from that will facilitate your Xbox modding, but you should choose the "Linux profile" for best results.

  Connect your Action Replay to your PC through the USB port. Move or drag the saved profile and installer into the Action Reply and into the left column. The memory card will eventually load the information.

  Take out the memory card and place it into the Xbox game console, via the controller.

  Load the Linux installer and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell profile onto the Xbox console.

  Open the Xbox disc tray and put in your copy of Splinter Cell. At the main menu, press "Start" when prompted.

  You will notice a save entitled "Linux." Select this option.

  Press "Checkpoints," when prompted. Your Xbox will freeze for several seconds and display the blue Xbox screen.

  Immediately press "MS Backup" when prompted.

  Choose either Unleash X or Evo X and install them when prompted.

  Press "Install Softmod." A new Xbox dashboard will be created and you will have yourself a moded Xbox.
