The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is the second home console by Nintendo, released in North America in August 1991. The system features a library of over 700 games, including entries in the popular "Super Mario," "Legend of Zelda" and "Final Fantasy" series. It has been discontinued and no longer is available in most retail stores, but used units are readily available at a variety of outlets.

  Check local game stores that offer second-hand products. Game-specific chains such as Game Crazy and Gamestop rarely carry Super Nintendo products, but others, such as Play N Trade, have older games and consoles available.

  Visit garage sales. Super Nintendo systems are often available at garage and yard sales, and you can ask the seller for a quick demo to ensure that the system works.

  Review the classified sections of local newspapers. If you prefer internet shopping, craigslist.com and other sites allow you to browse through online classifieds.

  Check online auctioneers such as eBay. People often use these sites to sell used video game systems, often bundling in some (or even all) of their games.
