Checking Your Television
Check the back of your television to see if it has audio/video inputs.
See "How to Set Up a Nintendo 64 System Using an RF Unit," under Related eHows, if it doesn't have A/V inputs. If it does, the items that you need come with the game.
Connecting the Nintendo 64 to the TV Set
Locate the audio/video inputs on the back of the television.
Place the "yellow" end of the stereo A/V cable into the Video In input on the back of the television. Use a slight twisting motion when inserting the cable to ensure it is secure in the input.
Connect the "red" end of the cable to Audio In Right, and connect the "white" end of the cable to Audio In Left.
Connect the rectangular gray plug of the stereo A/V cable into the Multi-out connector on the back of the control deck.
Insert the Game Pak securely into the control deck.
Plug the controller(s) into the front of the system using the leftmost port for player 1.
Plug the AC adapter into the back of the system, and plug the other end into a wall power outlet.
Slide the power switch on.
Turn on the television and locate the input select. It's often called "Input Select," "Aux," "Line," "Line In," "Input," "Source," "Select," "In" or "Ext."
Switch this button to show the Nintendo game. The game should display on the screen. You are now ready to play.
Connecting the Nintendo 64 to the VCR
Locate the audio/video inputs on the back of the VCR.
Place the "yellow" end of the stereo A/V cable into the Video In input on the back of the VCR.
Connect the "red" end of the cable to Audio In Right, and the "white" end of the cable to Audio In Left.
Connect the rectangular gray plug of the stereo A/V cable into the Multi-out connector on the back of the control deck.
Insert the Game Pak securely into the control deck.

Set the VCR's TV/VCR button to VCR.
Slide the power switch on.
