How to Make a Residence in Minecraft

Building complex structures in "Minecraft" very quickly stops being fun if another player on the server you're playing on takes it upon himself to demolish them. To prevent this from happening, the owners of the server you're playing on may have installed the "Residence" plugin. On a server with this plugin, any user can reserve a plot of land on which only he can place or destroy blocks. Depending on the server's configuration, you may have to pay some of the server's currency to create a residence. You may also be able to create multiple residences and rent them out to other players.

Instructions

    • 1

Equip the tool used to make a selection. By default, this is a wooden axe, but the server's owner may have changed it to something else. If the wooden axe doesn't work, check the server's welcome message for information or ask for help in the chat.

    • 2

Target the block you want to use as the upper left corner of the residence area and click. The message "Placed Primary Selection Point" will appear in the chat, followed by the coordinates of the block you targeted.

    • 3

Target the block you want to use as the bottom right corner of the residence area and right-click. The message "Placed Secondary Selection Point" will appear in the chat, followed by the coordinates of the block you targeted.

    • 4

Type the following command in the chat:

      /res select vert

This expands the selection to cover all blocks in the area from bedrock to the sky.

    • 5

Type the following command in the chat, replacing "Name" with the name you want to give your residence:

      /res create Name

A message confirming that the residence has been created will appear in the chat.
