How to Split Blocks in Minecraft for Mac

Night falls faster than you'd think in "Minecraft," and with it come skeletons, creepers, spiders and other nasties out for your blood. To be safe you need to build yourself a shelter, and to do that you need tools -- and you'd better make those tools quickly, because every second counts. To make even the simplest tools, you need the three-by-three grid provided by a crafting table, made from four planks. If you know how to split block stacks, you'll only need a single block of wood to get your crafting table. If you don't, you'll need to collect 64 before you can get started.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "E" to open your inventory and ensure you have at least one open space.

    • 2

Hold down "Control" and click the stack of blocks you want to split. This picks up half the stack. If the original stack contained an odd number of blocks, the half left behind will have one less block.

    • 3

Click on an open space in your inventory to deposit the half stack there.
