How to Use a Golden Nugget in Minecraft

The golden nugget, obtained from slain zombie pigment, is a crafting ingredient used to create useful items in the "Minecraft" world. While you can simply craft the smaller gold nuggets into a single gold ingot, you also can use them to create glistering melons and golden carrots, which are brewing ingredients. Zombie pigment respawns, making gold nuggets a renewable resource. To use the golden nuggets, you must combine this item with other ingredients at a crafting table.

Instructions

Gold Ingot

  Collect at least nine gold nuggets and stand in front of a crafting table.

  Right-click (PC Version) or press the "X" button (Xbox 360) while facing the table to open the crafting menu.

  Place the nine gold nuggets in the crafting section and collect the gold ingot that is crafted. Gold ingots are used for crafting weapons, armor, clocks and powered rails.
Glistering Melon

  Collect eight gold nuggets and one melon. Melons are obtained by planting the melon seeds, which then grow into melon blocks. The seeds are found in the random chests located inside abandoned mine shafts.

  Stand in front of a crafting table and right-click (PC version) or press the "X" button (Xbox 360) to access the crafting menu.

  Place the melon on the center square of the crafting section and place the eight gold nuggets in the empty blocks around it.

  Collect the glistering melon that is crafted and place it in your inventory. This item is used during brewing to create mundane potions and potions of healing.
Golden Carrot

  Collect eight gold nuggets and one carrot. Carrots are a random drop from defeated zombies or can be harvested from villager farms.

  Stand in front of a crafting table and right-click (PC version) or press the "X" button (Xbox 360) to access the crafting menu.

  Place the carrot on the center square of the crafting section and the eight gold nuggets on the surrounding squares.

  Collect the golden carrot that is crafted and place it in your inventory. The golden carrot restores six hunger points when eaten and can be used to brew night vision potions.
Firework Star

  Collect one gold nugget, one unit of gunpowder and dye of any color. Open dungeon chests to find gunpowder or kill ghasts, witches or creepers for a random drop. Dyes are obtained from items such as roses, dandelions or cocoa plants that occur naturally in the game world.

  Right-click (PC) or press the "X" button (Xbox 360) while facing a crafting table to open the crafting screen.

  Place the gold nugget, gunpowder and dye on any space in the crafting section and then collect the firework star that is crafted. The gold ingot adds the star shape to the firework explosion.
