How to Find Coal Ore on Minecraft for iPad

Coal ore is a resource in "Minecraft Pocket Edition" commonly found in caves and caverns beneath the surface of the world. It can also be found on sea beds and cliff faces. Mining coal ore often provides a boost to your experience level. In order to successfully mine coal from a block of coal ore, you will need to craft a wooden (or better) pickaxe. Coal can be used to craft torches or fire charges and can be stacked up to 64 times in your inventory before a new space in required.

      Explore the "Minecraft" world until you find some trees. Tap and hold on the trees to collect the wood. Open your inventory and tap the "Craft" button to open your crafting menu. Tap the building blocks menu and then tap "Wooden Planks" to craft some wooden planks out of wood.

      Tap the "Crafting Table" button to create a crafting table out of wooden planks. Tap the "Stick" button to create some sticks. Tap the close icon to exit the inventory screen.

      Place the crafting table into the world by tapping on the location you'd like the put it. Tap the crafting table to open an extended crafting menu. Tap the "Weapons and Tools" icon and then tap the "Wooden Pickaxe" button. Tap the "Close" icon to exit the crafting menu.

      Explore the "Minecraft" world until you find a natural cave or cavern. Alternatively, you can dig straight down by tapping and holding on the ground beneath your feet.

      Open your inventory and select the wooden pickaxe. Tap and hold on the coal ore to mine some coal.

      Open your inventory and select a resource you are currently hold a lot of, such as cobblestone or dirt. Tap the jump button and immediately tap the ground beneath your feet to place a block. Continue to jump and place blocks until you reach the world's surface.
