In "The Sims 3" for iOS devices, fishing is a relaxing hobby or lucrative career choice for your Sim. Fish you catch make delicious meals, but you can also sell them or use them as high-quality fertilizer for your garden. As a novice, you start out catching minnows and goldfish. Raise your fishing level, though, and you'll haul in rare and valuable creatures such as the dragon fish, octopus or even a crocodile. Use your iPhone's motion controls to lure and catch a fish.

Open your map and select a lake, river, pond or ocean to travel there.

Approach the water, and then tap the hook icon on the ground.

Tap "Go Fishing" to cast your line.

Tilt the iPhone back and forth to move the hook in the water. Direct the hook toward the fish you want to catch.

Watch for the fish to bite the hook, and then jerk the iPhone up quickly to catch the fish.
