How to Set Up Wi-Fi on an iDeaS Emulator

Several Nintendo DS games, such as Mario Kart DS, feature multi-player Wi-Fi. If you have backup ROM copies of such games, you can play them offline using the iDeaS emulator. However, the emulator cannot use your computer's Wi-Fi adapter unless you enable it after adding the Wi-Fi plugin.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the iDeaS website (see Resource) and click the "WiFi plugin" link in the Plugins section of the page to download the Wi-Fi plugin.

    • 2

Open the Wi-Fi plugin you just downloaded to see its contents. Double-click the "Windows" folder to see the "wifi.dll" file.

    • 3

Open up another File Explorer window and go to the folder containing the iDeaS executable file. Click "Home" on the File Explorer window and click "New Folder." Name the folder "PlugIn" and drag the "wifi.dll" file from the window you opened earlier to the PlugIn folder.

    • 4

Close iDeaS if it is currently running, then re-launch iDeaS. Click "Options" on the menu bar and go to "Plug-ins." Go to "Wi-Fi" from the popup menu and click "Wi-Fi Plugin" to enable the Wi-Fi capabilities.
