How to Kill the Templar Den's Captain in Assassin's Creed: Revelations

In "Assassin's Creed: Revelations," the Templars have taken over Constantinople. They've set up dens around the city, each staffed with dozens of guards and one captain. To liberate a den, you only need to kill the captain and light a signal fire for your assassins. Captains have one of two personalities. Bold captains will bravely attack you on sight and refuse to flee the battle. Cowardly captains won't stick around to fight you if they spot you. A stealthy approach is the best way to take out both types of captains.

Instructions

  Go to the nearest shop and buy as many throwing knives and poison darts as you can carry. These stealth weapons enable you to stay out of sight in Templar dens.

  Find a Templar den on your map, and then head to the marked location. Templar dens are marked as red areas on the map.

  Climb to the roof on the outskirts of the den. Look around to scope out the area. Check for guards on the roofs of nearby buildings. If you see any, kill them silently with your throwing knives.

  Press "LS" to activate Eagle Vision if you're playing on Xbox 360, press "L3" on PlayStation 3 or press the ̶0;E̶1; key if you̵7;re playing on the PC. Eagle Vision highlights enemies in red and captains in yellow.

  Look for the captain in the crowd. When you spot him, he'll appear on your mini-map.

  Watch the captain's patrol pattern. Note when he leaves his guards and when he turns his back to you. His patrol pattern will never change unless you interrupt him.

  Get as close to the captain as possible without allowing him to spot you. A rooftop directly over his head is an ideal spot.

  Throw a knife or poison dart at the captain as soon as he's alone. If one knife doesn't kill him, throw more quickly before he has a chance to escape.

  Jump down from the roof and confront the captain if he didn't die from your first attack or if he spots you. If the captain is bold, he'll fight you. If he's a coward, he'll flee. Guards will try to surround you; ignore them and continue running after the captain.

  Throw darts or knives to slow the fleeing captain down. Run up to him when he stops and attack him with your favorite weapon until he dies. If the captain escapes the area, he will return to his original patrol route in 20 minutes.
