How to Open Crafting Box in Minecraft Pocket Edition on iPhone

The wildly successful independent game "Minecraft" has sold over 20 million copies across various gaming platforms. Unfortunately, its Pocket Edition touchscreen controls are not nearly as intuitive as the PC alternatives. In order to survive, you are going to need the ability to create and interact with the crafting interface. Having the right resources available can mean the difference between an addicting experience and a frustrating waste of time.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather some materials to craft with by breaking blocks in the world around you. To start with, some wood will be very useful. Chopping down a tree or two will give you plenty of material to work with at first.

    • 2

Open the basic crafting interface. This can be found in your inventory screen, which you open by tapping the far right button on your item bar. It is labeled with an ellipse. The Craft button is located in the upper left corner of your inventory.

    • 3

Scroll through the alphabetical list until you find Wooden Planks. Tap the box to the right to turn some of your lumber into building material.

    • 4

Scroll up to find Crafting Table in the same list. Click the box to the right to build one out of your planks. Now you can close the crafting table by tapping the "X" in the upper right corner of the crafting window.

    • 5

Tap on the Crafting Table in the inventory menu to add it to your usable items in the bar at the bottom of the screen, then close your inventory.

    • 6

Place the Crafting Table the same way you would any other block. Now it is available any time you need it. Simply position yourself next to the table and tap on it to be taken to an expanded version of the crafting interface you just used.
