How to Beat the Pyramid Sands in Kirby's Epic Yarn

Pyramid Sands is the first state in the ̶0;Hot Land̶1; level of "Kirby's Epic Yarn." Set in a desert, this stage has you traversing quicksand and avoiding tornadoes; it is also the first stage to let you drive an off-road monster truck. The stage is fairly straight-forward, but does have a few tricky points, such as the armored balls that are caught in some of the tornadoes. There are also a few secret areas you can drop into for extra treasure.

Instructions

- 1
  Head right until you reach the quicksand. You can stand on the darker-shaded sections, but if you're standing on them you'll start to sink, so just jump onto a higher dark patch if you do so. Move across the quicksand collecting the coins and killing the bad guys.

  Jump into the tornado. These appear throughout the stage and throw you into the air. Move past the two tornadoes.

  Flick the switch to open the ground and then drop inside and collect the treasure to the left. Use the quicksand to get out.

  Move right past the tornadoes and archer. You can catch the archer's arrows and throw them back. After this there's another ground-opening switch -- use this and get the treasure. Move onwards.

  Jump over the tornadoes -- these contain spiked balls, so do not jump into the tornados, only over them.

  Cross the first patch of quicksand, then use the tornado to help you get across the next patch. Next you'll face a number of spiked ball tornadoes, some of which are over quicksand. You can use the quicksand to go under these or use the platforms to go over them depending on how brave you feel.

  Pull down the patch just after the quicksand and jump into the power up it leaves. This turns Kirby into a monster truck. Drive on, avoiding the other trucks and using the speed boosts to help you along your way to the finish line.

  Collect the treasure from the podium and then ring the bell to finish the level.
