How to Get the Start Boost on Mario Kart Wii

"Mario Kart Wii" is a racing game for the Nintendo Wii. In this game, you can choose one of many classic Nintendo characters and race against your friends or the computer. The start boost trick gives you a speed burst to start the race, so you'll have an early advantage over the other racers.

  Start a game of "Mario Kart Wii."

  Select the type of race you want to participate in, choose your character and select the stage you want to race in. Click "Start" to begin the race. Once the game loads up to the starting line, a three-second countdown will appear.

  Press and hold the "2" button on your Wii remote when the number "2" on the countdown begins to disappear. The three-second countdown numbers disappear slowly, so you'll have time to press the button on your remote.

  Press "A" to accelerate when the race begins while still holding the "2" button. You'll get a speed boost to start the race. Release the "2" button after you accelerate.
