How to Unlock Secret Unlockables for Mario Kart Wii

"Mario Kart Wii" has the distinction of being the first game of the "Mario Kart" series on the Nintendo Wii. Racers can be controlled using the standard Wii controller, or the Wii steering wheel for a more authentic racing experience. The game may seem shallow and short, but once certain "cups" are completed, more characters, tracks, and races are made available to the players. Players can also race against the ghosts of the game's programmers.

Instructions

  Win each cup race on all three difficulties with a star rank to unlock all the vehicles and tracks. Additionally, to unlock extra bikes and karts, unlock 24 staff ghosts in the time trials. Defeat the ghost time in time trial mode to unlock staff ghosts.

  Finish each cup in first place on each difficulty to unlock eight characters. Remaining characters are unlocked by beating all 32 staff ghosts in time trial mode.

  Complete each cup in first to unlock a new title screen. Press the D-pad at the cup selection to unlike the Kart and Bike versions of the 50cc and 100c cups. Complete all 150cc cups in first, second or third place to unlock Mirror mode.
