Rare and Holiday Furniture Sets
On Harvest Day, which is on a varying date in November, talk to the mayor and get a fork and knife set. Ignore what the mayor says and take it to Franklin the turkey. From Franklin, you will receive either a bed, bureau, chair, clock, dresser, lamp, mirror, rug, sofa, table, television or wall of the Harvest collection. Franklin hides behind trees and buildings throughout the town and moves every time you give him a fork and knife.
On Dec. 24, you can talk to Jingle after 8 p.m. to get a piece of the Jingle furniture set. This set includes a bed, carpet, chair, clock, dresser, lamp, piano, shelves, sofa, table, wall and wardrobe.
Rare Mario items are found in balloons that float through town between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Using a slingshot (purchased from Tom Nook), shoot down the balloons. The balloons are carrying a present, which you can open to get one of the following: 1-Up mushroom, "?" block, brick block, brick flooring, cannon, coin, Fire Bar, Fire Flower, flagpole, green Koopa shell, green pipe, mushroom mural, Starman or Super Mushroom. Sometimes the present will be a regular piece of furniture.
During the fall, the Mush furniture set can be found by picking up mushrooms. Occasionally mushrooms actually will be furniture. Furniture includes a table, bed, TV, stand, dresser, closet, lamp, chair, stool, end table, floor and wall.
On days Pascal is visiting your town, talk to him only when you have a scallop (not a white scallop) in your pockets. He will do his normal "hippy" talk, then ask whether you will hook him up with a scallop. This is the only way to get the Pirate Items: an anchor, barrel, ship's helm, keg, sea view wallpaper, ship's cannon, ship's compass or ship's deck flooring.
During the winter you can make a snowman by rolling snowballs together. One must be big, and the other must be medium. In a few days, you will get snowman furniture mailed to you if you rolled him in the right proportions.
On Halloween, find Jack. He will be the only one who will not be following you around. You can get two different types of items from him. If you give him candy, he will give you Spooky furniture, including a bed, bookcase, carpet, chair, clock, dresser, lamp, sofa, table, vanity, wall or wardrobe. If you deny him candy, he will swap what is in your pockets for a Jack in the Box.
Silver and Golden Tools
You can purchase the Silver Fishing Rod, Silver Net and Silver Slingshot at Tom Nook's Store. You can get the Silver Watering Can by purchasing 50 seed bags from Tom Nook. For the Silver Shovel, you must go to the city and visit Resetti's Surveillance Center after 8 p.m. To get a Silver or Golden Axe, you must have a Fountain in your town. Then you can place the axe in a fountain for a random chance at a silver or golden axe.
To get the Golden Fishing Rod, you must catch every type of fish. You can acquire the Golden Bug Net by catching every type of insect. To get a Golden Watering Can, you must have a perfect town rating for 15 days and then talk to Pelly in the Town Hall. For a Golden Slingshot, all you have to do is pop eight balloons that float through town. Then one of the presents will be a Golden Slingshot. To acquire the Golden Shovel, you must bury a regular shovel, then dig it up 24 hours later. To do this you will have to purchase two shovels.
Town Fund and Tom Nook Unlockables
Donating to the town fund will help your town get new things. After you donate 200,000 bells, the first thing built is a bridge. Next, after 400,000 bells are donated, a fountain will be built. The last item to be built is a windmill or a lighthouse after 1,000,000 bells are donated. Anyone in your town can donate bells by visiting the Town Hall and talking to Pelly.
Tom Nook has unlockables based on a point system. You earn one point for every 100 bells spent and can earn points just for visiting. You can earn the following items by cashing in those points.
