Hair Salon
When you enter the salon, Harriet, the owner, will ask if you would like to change your character's hair style or receive a total makeover. You can choose one of those options, or you can leave the Shampoodle. If you stay, you'll find that good grooming does not come cheap: Each procedure costs 3,000 bells.
Questions
You begin by choosing from three basic hairstyles: cute, grown-up, and crazy for a male character or unique for a female character. After you make your initial choice, Harriet will ask more questions, and your response to each one will determine the additional questions you are asked. The gender of your character will also affect the questions Harriet asks.
Cute
If you choose "cute," Harriet will ask if that suits your personality. You can choose "not at all" or "totally." If you say "not at all," Harriet will ask if you style your own hair. If you choose "totally," the next question is, "Are you too young for that?" To both of these questions, you essentially answer yes or no.
Grown Up
Picking "grown up" causes Harriet to wonder what you mean. For a boy character, the choices are big brother or businessman. A girl character chooses between elegant and alluring. The big brother/elegant choice prompts Harriet to ask if you think it is more important to give love or receive love. The businessman/alluring choice results in Harriet wondering what you will do if the girls swarm you or if people can't resist you.
Crazy/Unique
With the "crazy" and "unique" options, Harriet will ask if you like being scouted by talent agencies. If you choose "yes," she will ask how you would make your debut---as a movie star or pop star, or as a rock star or model. If you say you're not interested in being recruited by a talent scout, she will ask whether charisma is something you have to work at or have naturally.
Hair Color
Now you have one final decision---the hair color. Harriet will ask if you want a "warm" or a "cool" color. Warm color options are safe, lighthearted, fiery and flirty. Cool color options are mysterious, fresh, attractive and radiant. The colors range from typical brown to others you won't expect. For example, the "attractive" selection results in green hair.
Styles Galore
Once you've chosen the hair color, Harriet plops a big hair dryer-type contraption down on your character's head to style his hair, and when it is lifted you get to see the result. Each combination of answers you choose results in a different style.
