Connect the Wii
Click on the "Wii" logo in the bottom-left corner of your Wii home screen. Select "Wii Settings," and navigate to the second page of settings.
Select "Internet," followed by "Connection Settings." Select a connection slot, and click either "Wireless" or "Wired" connection.
Select "Search for Access Point" if you are using a wireless internet connection. Choose your wireless network and enter your network password if you have one. Click "OK" to save your connection settings, and your Wii will be connected to the internet.
Plug your Ethernet cable into your Wii's LAN adapter if you are using a wired connection, and choose "Wired" connection. Your Wii automatically connects to the Internet, and you can start using online features.
Use Virtual Console
Click on the "Wii Shop Channel" box on your Wii home screen. On the next screen, select "Add Wii Points" to add money to your account that you need to buy VC games. You can do this with a points card you may already have, or by entering your credit card details.
Go back to the "Wii Shop Channel" home screen and browse for the VC game that you want to download. You can browse by a variety of categories, including "Popular Games," "Game Title" and "Newest Additions."
Click on the game you want to download, and click "Download." Your VC game appears on your Wii home screen in its own box.
Click on the game you downloaded in your Wii home screen, and the Virtual Console loads. During the loading process, a screen shows you which controller types are compatible with your VC game. You need a compatible controller to play the game.
