Hardware Sync Method
Open the door located on the front of the Wii. An SD card slot should be visible.
Open the battery cover on the back of the second Wii controller. Locate the button labeled "Sync" and press it.
Locate and press the "Sync" button on the front of the Wii console. It is located above the SD card slot.
Watch the LED light on the front of the Wii controller. When the light stops blinking, the synchronization is complete.
Software Sync Method
Turn on the Wii console and navigate to the Wii on-screen menu. This may involve using your television remote's "Input" button to get to the television's Video 1, Video 2, Channel 3 or Channel 4 stations depending on how your television is set up for video game play.
Click the "Home" button on the primary Wii remote. It will have an image of a house on the button. The "Home Menu" will appear with the option of connecting four Wii remotes.
Click on the words "Wii Remote Settings" at the bottom of the home menu page with the primary remote.
Click on the "Reconnect" button on the Home Menu on the television screen using the primary Wii remote.
Click and hold the "1" and "2" buttons simultaneously on the primary Wii remote when you see the words "Simultaneously press 1 and 2 on each Wii Remote in the desired player order." Hold the buttons until the television's on-screen image stops flashing. The Wii remote may also vibrate when the synchronization is complete.
Click and hold the "1" and "2" buttons simultaneously on the second Wii remote immediately after the primary remote has synced. Hold the buttons until the television's onscreen image stops flashing. The Wii remote may also vibrate when the synchronization is complete.
Click on the words "Close Wii Remote Settings" at the bottom of the on-screen menu. Click on the "Wii Menu" button. Click on "Yes."
