How to Plant Bells in Animal Crossing for the Wii

Nintendo's Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii video game console lets you inhabit a virtual neighborhood where you can make friends, purchase a home and go shopping. Gold bells serve as currency in the game, and you can earn them by running errands for your neighbors, selling goods and finding them hidden throughout the landscape. The easiest way to amass a fortune is to plant bells and wait for a money tree to grow.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase two shovels from Tom Nook's store. Use one shovel to dig a hole in the ground. Place the second shovel in the hole. Return to the site after 24 hours and dig up the shovel. It will have turned into a magical golden shovel after spending at least one full day in the ground.

    • 2

Find a clearing away from trees and objects. Use the golden shovel to dig a hole in the ground. Place bells in the hole and cover them up.

    • 3

Water the spot and a sapling will eventually grow. Water the sapling at least once a day for four days.

    • 4

Return to the spot where you buried the bells after four full days. You will find that the sapling has turned into a full-grown tree. Shake the tree. Pick up any money bags full of bells that fall to the ground.
