How to Add Remotes to the Wii and Tiger Woods

Wii gaming systems come with a remote control that is synchronized with the Wii console. Any additional remote must be manually synchronized to the Wii console before it can be used. When playing Tiger Woods golf, the separate golfers will be assigned to individual remotes so that each person playing the game can have their own remote instead of being forced to share a single Wii remote.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the protective rubber casing from the Wii remote to be synchronized to the Wii system. Open the battery cover and ensure there are batteries in the remote and locate the red sync button next to the battery compartment. Do not replace the battery cover at this time.

    • 2

Open the SD card slot cover on the Wii console. This cover is directly below the CD slot used to insert your games. Once the cover is removed you will see another red sync button.

    • 3

Turn on the new remote and the Wii console.

    • 4

Press and hold the red sync button on the remote until the blue lights on the front of the remote begin to flash. Once the lights are flashing release the sync button.

    • 5

Press the sync button on the Wii console and release.

    • 6

Confirm the Wii remote has been synchronized with the console. This is confirmed when only one blue light remains steadily lit on the remote.

    • 7

Verify the remote is able to be used by turning on and off the Wii console with the newly synchronized remote and selecting the Tiger Woods golf game to play.

    • 8

Replace the battery cover and protective rubber case on the remote. The blue light which is on indicates the number assigned for the session of gaming. Turning on another remote that is synchronized to the Wii console will result in a different blue light being assigned to that particular remote.

    • 9

Enter the Tiger Woods golf game and choose to "Play Now." After going through the initial setup, which includes the number of players, course and various other options, save your settings.

    • 10

Select the golfers to be used during the game.

    • 11

Select the remote to be used for the particular golfer under the "Golfer Options." This screen is automatically displayed when a golfer is chosen. The Wii remote option is at the bottom of the screen. The selection will correspond to the blue light at the top of the controller to be used for the golfer being established.

    • 12

Complete the "Golfer Option" setup for each golfer.
