How to Unlock the Turtle on Mario Party 8

The turtle characters known as Hammer Bros. have appeared in Mario games since the 1980s. In "Super Mario Party 8," Hammer Bro and the squid Blooper serve as minions of the evil Bowser, but they're also playable characters in the game. Blooper and Hammer Bro are unlocked through the same game mode, one at a time, and the game randomly selects which one you'll access first. To guarantee that you'll unlock the Hammer Bro turtle, you have to play through the game mode twice.

Instructions

     Choose the Star Battle Arena and select any character.

   • 2

     Win against your computer opponent in each of the first five stages of the Star Battle.

   • 3

     Defeat the opponent chosen for you by Bowser -- Hammer Bro or Blooper -- in the sixth stage to unlock that character.

   • 4

     Play through the Star Battle Arena a second time using the character you unlocked the first time to unlock the final character.
