How to Unlock Features on Mario Kart for the Wii

Nintendo characters get back on their racers for more laps around the track in "Mario Kart Wii" for the Nintendo Wii. You can choose from Mario, Yoshi, Bowser and others from the Nintendo canon and compete in familiar environments from these characters' games. Grab power-ups to use against foes while racing to the finish line. As with other games in the "Mario Kart" series, you can unlock several new courses, karts and characters by progressing through the title.

Instructions

  Finish at least third in the various cups to unlock more cups. Take third in Mushroom Cup and Flower Cup to open up Star Cup. Finish at least third in Star Cup to play Special Cup. Third in Banana Cup and Shell Cup will allow you to race in Leaf Cup. Finishing third in Leaf Cup unlocks Lightning Cup.

  Play Mirror Mode, which makes you race the courses in reverse, by finishing first in all of the cups in the 150cc class.

  Unlock certain character by winning cups in different classes. You can race as King Boo by winning the Star Cup in 50cc class. Dry Bones becomes available with a victory in the 100cc class of Leaf Cup. Take down the 150cc level of Special Cup to play as Daisy.

  Race with new karts by winning certain cups. Be victorious in 50cc Leaf Cup and you get the Turbo Blooper. Defeat opponents in the Lightning Cup 150cc class to open up the Honeycoupe. Drive Blue Falcon after winning in the mirror version of Lightning Cup.

  Race with bikes by winning cups. The Dolphin Dasher is available after you win in the mirror mode of Star Cup. Shooting Star is opened by being first in the 100cc class of Star Cup. Take down the mirror version of Special Cup to ride the Phantom.

Wii Games
